Earn While You Learn

The EWYL program provides participants with maternity clothes and baby supplies while they are learning about pregnancy and topics related to parenting. Participants must be pregnant or have a child under the age of 2 years old. We provide easy to access online videos via text message or email that allow you to watch and learn wherever it is most convenient for you.

Participants in EWYL earn access to resources such as:

  • Diapers

  • Wipes

  • Formula

  • Baby clothes and Accessories

  • Maternity Clothes

  • Bottles and Nursing Supplies

  • Infant Car Seat

  • Pack n' Play

Parenting Class

This series explains the emotional needs of a child and provides parents with skills that will help them help their child feel truly loved and accepted.

Parents learn:

  • The power of showing love through eye contact, physical contact and focused attention

  • To define appropriate and inappropriate love

  • How to address a child’s anger

  • How to help children with special concerns or problems

  • What constitutes discipline

  • The power of loving discipline

  • A formula for discipline (Requests, Commands, Rewards and Punishment)

Parents also have the opportunity to explore how they can share their own values and help their child spiritually.

Classes are held at First Baptist Church, 301 Center Street, Henderson, KY!

Cost: $10 non refundable class fee

Time: 6pm to 8pm

This powerful series written by Henry Cloud and John Townsend, teaches the positive impact of healthy physical, mental and emotional boundaries. Many men and women have identified and been released from unhealthy and even abusive relationships.

In Boundaries, individuals learn:

  • To define various boundaries in relationships with family, friends, spouses, and children

  • How to set healthy boundaries at work with non-oppositional expression

  • To implement the 10 laws of boundaries

  • To debunk common boundary myths that cause us to say “yes” when we should say “no” to compromising situations 

  • How those boundaries can ultimately help them get what they really want from life 

  • Healthy ways to manage the resistance they might experience when they set healthy boundaries.

We provide classes, resources, material assistance and one-on-one support for new parents.

How do I sign up?

Call 270.826.9674 or come by our office at 235 N. Elm Street.
We ask that you pre-register as a participant. Seating is limited.

How much does it cost?

There is a $10 class fee. We provide you with a book and class notes.

How do I get my book?

Books and class notes may be picked up the week before your class. * Please note that because our class is only four weeks long, there is a reading assignment and questions to be completed before the first class and between classes.

Can I get proof I took the class?

You will be given a certificate of completion upon completing the class. If you would like proof you signed up for the class our client services director may be able to help you with any special concerns. Please call 270.826.9674

Who can I bring?

This class is not appropriate for children due to the varied class discussions or topics covered and for preserving an appropriate environment for learning. Nursing infants under the age of 12 months may attend with their mother, if needed. What about my partner, spouse, or friend? Yes. Anyone who is supportive of your learning experience may register to attend with you. We ask that they pre-register as seating is limited.

I am invovled with EPO. Can I still take the class?

Yes. When you register for the class, the person taking your information will make a note of the EPO information and our client services director will help you with any concerns you may have.

Can I take a smoke break during class?

Participants are given a break about half-way through the class, however, Marsha’s Place property is smoke-free. If you must smoke during the break, we ask that you please smoke and dispose of any cigarettes or other tobacco products inside your vehicle. If you are interested in learning more about the support we have for quitting, please ask your instructor for information about our Plan to Be Tobacco Free program and incentives.
